As Eraqus charges forward, Ventus is thrown into a portal to another world by Terra while the latter battles Eraqus. Terra attempts to stop the execution while Eraqus senses that Terra has descended into darkness, causing him sadness by the fact that he must eliminate two of his apprentices. When Terra returns to the Land of Departure, Eraqus attempts to vanquish Ventus to prevent Xehanort from using the boy in his plans. However, after Terra departs, Ventus leaves as well, so Eraqus instructs Aqua to bring Ventus back. Eraqus, however, is unaware that Master Xehanort had interfered, using his dark powers to affect the course of the Exam itself.Īfter Master Xehanort goes missing, Eraqus sends Terra and Aqua to find him, trusting Aqua with responsibility over Terra due to his fear of the man's inner darkness.

Eraqus believes that Terra is not ready, because he lacks control over his own darkness. Eraqus begins the exam with Aqua passing but Terra failing. Master Xehanort arrives, along with Ventus, at the Land of Departure and the boy watches Terra and Aqua preparing for their exams.

At the beginning of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Eraqus prepares to hold the Mark of Mastery exam. Master Eraqus is a Keyblade Master and the master of Terra and Aqua, and he also serves as the second master of Ventus. So what if he starts to get confused.Original Characters Sora Main article: Sora Riku Main article: Riku Kairi Main article: Kairi Terra Main article: Terra Aqua Main article: Aqua Ventus Main article: Ventus Naminé Main article: Naminé Eraqus Sora is aware of people he needs to save but he's not 100% aware of all the people and their pain which he sheltered in his own heart. He acts like one of his incarnations and each has a different identity. This the weeb in me speaking btw: In the manga called Spirit Circle, the MC relieves all of his previous lives and everytime he experiences one they all get jumbled up. In DDD Xigbar implied that Sora might be confusing his own personality with someone else's (like Ventus, Roxas or Xion). Is this potential development i see? And also some other ideas came to me. again XD (ok that was funny) This moment right there made me think. He must have learned a valuable lesson (please don't brush it off for good Sora i beg you) And of course he noticed that he got nerfed. This experience made him see how much of a threat Xehanort really is. He became a bit overconfiedent don't ya think. What DDD did right for Sora was bringing him back to the ground. Why are you making us feel these things Square Enix?!! WHY?! The lengthy cutscene that just made all of the fans want KH3 soon even more.

:expressionless: To add it kinda helped me go through the mindf*** of the story cuz to those who play blind it's better to understand with Sora (the game expects you to play as Sora first before you drop to Riku- who basically doesn't ask much questions. Only the moments where he would forget his mission. That's fine (i've encoutered characters with lower IQ a bunch of times)- it didn't bother me that much. But Sora was always kind of an air-head wasn't he. And sometimes it made me cringe while watching. Compared to Riku, Sora did come out moronic and couldn't pay attention to simplest of things. So far i've encountered 3-ish types of opinions on this matter.ġ) Haters (and/or neutrals) disliking and bashing on his stupidity/ cringy naivety or just dgaf about himĢ) Fans defending his naivety cuz of the stakes at hand (which was the Mark of Mastery exam) and him not knowing (?) about Xehanort's plans.ģ) Those who just dislike (or hate) how he was handled in DDD but are fine with everything elseįirst of all i completely understand why would they hate it. Ok let's talk about the elephant in the room.
